We have completed a range of projects often approaching things in a new way with fresh partnerships. We are currently posting details of our ‘project highlights’.

Reppin Endz Derby.
This project worked with young hip hop artists in Derby to explore the history of their local parks. They looked at four parks across the city – completed historical research going back to the Domesday Book; took photographs of the parks; interviewed people to collect their park memories from playing in an abandoned bomb site after World War 2 to present day memories of hanging out with friends; and created hip hop tracks which included their research and people’s memories. They went on BBC Radio Derby and performed live at a gig in the city centre to celebrate the end of the project.
This project was short-listed for an East Midlands Heritage Award ‘engaging young people in heritage’ category.
Project partners included Global Education Derby, Derby Black Heritage Lottery Fund logo with hand with crossed fingersgoCity Council (youth service), Derby Live and was supported with a £38,000 grant from Heritage Lottery Fund.
